ProAbout these tools
The QR codes and passwords are worth a particular note. The codes encode your data directly rather than pointing at a redirect service, so a printed code cannot be switched off by somebody else going out of business; the passwords come from the browser's cryptographic random source and are never transmitted.
Frequently asked questions
Do the QR codes expire?
No. The data is inside the image itself, so there is no account or redirect service that could lapse and break a printed code.
Is a generated password ever sent anywhere?
No. It is produced by your browser's Web Crypto API and stays on your device.
