How to use Lorem Generator
- Pick a Vocabulary: Classic Latin, Corporate, Technical or Hipster.
- Under Generate, choose Paragraphs, Sentences, Words or List items.
- Drag the slider to set the quantity. The limits are 30 paragraphs, 60 sentences, 600 words or 30 list items.
- Choose the Output format: Plain text, HTML or Markdown. For HTML, you can also wrap each block in p, div or span tags.
- Leave the opening phrase checkbox ticked if you want the text to begin with the traditional first words, or untick it to start with random ones.
- Press Copy or Download, or Generate again for a fresh version. The text also regenerates whenever you change an option.

Tips
- The words are picked at random from a fixed list, so it will not produce the exact traditional passage beyond the opening phrase. Use it for length and rhythm, not for authentic Latin.
- Choose Words with a count of about 8 to 12 to test a headline, and List items to test navigation or bullet lists.
- In Markdown output the first block gets a heading made from the opening phrase, so remove it if you only want body text.
- Set the vocabulary to Technical for developer-facing mock-ups so the page does not look like a design template to reviewers.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the real Lorem ipsum text?
Not exactly. It starts with the familiar opening words if you leave that option ticked, but the rest is built by choosing random words from a list, so each run is different.
How much text can I generate at once?
Up to 30 paragraphs, 60 sentences, 600 words or 30 list items in one go. Press Generate again to get a fresh batch.
Can I get HTML I can paste straight into a page?
Yes. Choose HTML as the output format and each paragraph is wrapped in the tag you select, or in a ul with li items when you generate list items.
What do the other vocabularies contain?
Corporate uses business words like roadmap and stakeholder, Technical uses words like endpoint and cache, and Hipster uses words like artisan and sourdough. They are meant to look like placeholders, not real sentences.
Is my choice saved or sent anywhere?
No. The text is generated in your browser and is not sent to a server.
