Image Upscaler Pro

Make an image 2, 3 or 4 times larger in pixel dimensions, with an optional sharpen. It uses careful resampling, not AI, so it cannot add detail that was never in the picture. Free preview · Pro required to export. See the real enlargement on a centre crop of your image, up to 640 pixels. Pro enlarges and saves the whole image.

Why use this tool?

  • A form or a template asks for a minimum width and your image is slightly smaller than that.
  • Logos, screenshots and clean graphics enlarge well with resampling, because the edges are simple.
  • A stepped enlargement followed by a light sharpen looks cleaner than letting a browser or word processor stretch the picture.
  • You can see the enlargement next to the stretched original before saving, so you know whether it is good enough.

How to use Image Upscaler

  1. Drop an image onto the tool, or click to browse.
  2. The Settings panel shows the original size and the output size. Pick 2x, 3x or 4x.
  3. Leave Sharpen the result ticked and set the Sharpen amount, or untick it for a plain enlargement.
  4. Press Upscale and wait for the result to appear.
  5. Drag the comparison slider to inspect the Original against the upscaled image, then press Download PNG.

Features

  • Enlarge by 2x, 3x or 4x
  • Resizes in stepped doublings with high-quality smoothing, which keeps edges together better than one large jump
  • Optional sharpen with an adjustable amount
  • Side-by-side comparison slider with a 1:1 zoom
  • Shows the original and output dimensions, and the PNG file size
  • Send the result on to another tool, or download it

Supported formats

Accepts any image your browser can open. Always saves a PNG named with the factor, for example photo-2x.png.

Tips

  • The output is capped at 6000 px on the longest side. If the chosen factor goes past that, the tool asks you to pick a smaller one.
  • Expect clean results on line art, screenshots and graphics, and a smoother but not more detailed result on a blurry photo.
  • Keep the sharpen amount low for photos; high values create bright halos around edges.
  • A PNG at 4x can be several megabytes. If you need a smaller file, run the result through Image Compressor and save as WebP or JPEG.

Frequently asked questions

Is this AI upscaling?

No. It is high-quality resampling with an optional sharpen, and the page says so. It cannot invent detail that the original did not capture.

Is the image uploaded?

No. The enlargement is done on a canvas in your browser, and the image never leaves your device.

What is the largest image I can produce?

The longest side of the output is limited to 6000 px. If your image times the factor exceeds that, you will see a message and the Upscale button is disabled.

Why is the result a PNG?

PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, so the enlarged pixels are saved exactly as drawn. You can convert or compress it afterwards.

What happens if the browser runs out of memory?

The tool reports that upscaling ran out of memory and suggests a 2x factor or a smaller source image.

Will upscaling make a low-resolution photo sharp?

It will make it bigger and slightly crisper, but a blurry or heavily compressed photo stays blurry at the larger size.

Can I try this Pro tool without an account?

Yes. See the real enlargement on a centre crop of your image, up to 640 pixels. Pro enlarges and saves the whole image. Your own input is processed locally in your browser.

Will upgrading keep my work?

Checkout and login open in a separate tab. Keep the workspace open to retain inputs, settings and previews. Files stay in that tab only; keep the originals in case you close or reload it. Export access is checked with the server after payment.

Your files are processed directly in your browser and are not uploaded to HubToolify's servers.
