Why use this tool?
- Staring at a blank title field after finishing an edit is a common place to get stuck.
- A title that is cut off in search is read in part, so length matters before wording does.
- It is easy to put the search term at the end of a title, where phones truncate it.
- Over-promising words may lift clicks, but they can hurt how long people watch.
How to use YouTube Title Generator
- In What it is about, write your topic in lower case as if finishing "a video about...".
- Optionally fill in Search term to rank for; if you leave it empty, the topic is used.
- Choose a Kind of video: tutorial, list, review, comparison, story, explainer or Short, then set Who it is for and Number to use. A Compared with field appears for comparisons.
- Decide whether to include the year, then read the titles, sorted from highest score.
- Click Keep on the ones you like, and Copy on any title; Copy all and the download button handle the whole list.
- To grade a title you already have, paste it under Score a title you already have and read the What to change notes.

- A scorer and advice for titles you write yourself
- A Keep list with its own copy button, and a CSV of titles, scores and lengths

Text in, text out. Generated titles can be copied, and the full list downloads as titles.csv with columns for title, score and characters.
Tips
- Aim for 60 characters or fewer so the whole title survives everywhere; 100 is YouTube's maximum.
- Put the search term within the first 20 characters, because the score rewards that.
- Choose the Kind of video that matches the real content; patterns such as "I tested" or "honest review" claim work you must have done.
- Say something different in the title than the thumbnail already shows.
Frequently asked questions
Does this use AI to write titles?
No. Titles are filled into fixed templates using what you enter, which means they are instant and never invent a claim about your video, but they are also less inventive.
What does the score mean?
It is a rule-based rating from 0 to 100 of measurable traits: length, where your search term appears, a number, power words and brackets, minus points for over-promising words, shouting and many emoji. It is not a prediction of views.
How long can a YouTube title be?
The tool states 100 characters as YouTube's limit, with roughly 70 shown in desktop search and about 60 on phones.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The titles and scores are generated in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
Why does the same topic give different titles for a different video kind?
Each pattern is tied to the kinds of video it suits, so a review gets "Is it worth it?" style titles and a tutorial gets "how to" ones.
Which words count as power or over-promising words?
Power words include "actually", "guide", "mistake" and "tested". Over-promising words include "shocking", "insane", "guaranteed" and "100%". A short fixed list is used for each.
Can I try this Pro tool without an account?
Yes. See the 5 best-scoring titles and score your own free. The full ranked list and CSV require Pro. Your own input is processed locally in your browser.
