Why use this tool?
- Choosing pages by number out of a scanned contract is guesswork; picking them by looking at them is not.
- You may need to send only the relevant pages of a long document, without the rest.
- A scan with a few upside-down pages can be fixed on the spot, and the rotation is saved into the file itself.
- Splitting a large PDF into chapters or batches of a fixed number of pages makes it easier to email or upload.
How to use PDF Splitter
- Drop a PDF onto the box. Thumbnails of its pages appear on the right while it loads.
- Click a page to keep it or drop it. The shortcuts All, None, Odd, Even and Invert change many at once.
- Or type a range such as 1-3, 7, 12-15 under "Or by number" and press Apply.
- Use the arrows under a page to turn it left or right or move it earlier or later.
- Under Save as, choose one PDF, a separate PDF for every page picked, or equal chunks, and set "Pages per file" for chunks.
- Press the Save button, which shows how many pages you have kept.
Features
- Thumbnail view of the whole document
- Keep or drop a page with a click, plus All, None, Odd, Even and Invert shortcuts
- Select by page number with ranges
- Rotate any page left or right and reorder pages
- Three saving modes: one PDF, one PDF per page, or equal chunks of a size you set
- Pages are copied, not redrawn, so text stays selectable and the file stays small
- Multiple files are delivered together as a zip
Supported formats
Accepts PDF files up to 100 MB. Saves a single PDF named after the original with -pages added, or a zip of PDFs when you split into several files.
Tips
- Thumbnails are drawn for the first 240 pages only, to keep the tab responsive. Later pages are still in the document and can be chosen by number.
- The order you see is the order you get, so you can use the arrows to rearrange pages before saving as one PDF.
- Rotating here changes the page itself, so every reader will show it the new way up.
- If a PDF is password protected, remove the password first with PDF Protect & Unlock.
Frequently asked questions
Are my pages sent to a server?
No. The thumbnails are drawn with pdf.js in your browser and the new files are built there too, using pdf-lib.
Does splitting reduce the quality?
No. The chosen pages are copied into the new file with their text, fonts and vector artwork intact, not turned into pictures.
How do I split into one file per page?
Choose "A separate PDF for every page picked" under Save as. You get a zip with a file for each kept page.
Can I split into equal parts?
Yes. Choose "Split into equal chunks", enter how many pages each file should hold, and the tool shows how many files that will produce.
What is the size limit?
PDFs over 100 MB are refused, since the thumbnails would exhaust the browser tab.
Why did a locked PDF fail to open?
A password-protected file cannot be read until it is unlocked. The error message points you to the PDF Protect & Unlock tool.
Can I try this Pro tool without an account?
Yes. Open your PDF, pick, rotate and reorder pages with thumbnails. Pro saves the split files. Your own input is processed locally in your browser.
Will upgrading keep my work?
Checkout and login open in a separate tab. Keep the workspace open to retain inputs, settings and previews. Files stay in that tab only; keep the originals in case you close or reload it. Export access is checked with the server after payment.
Your files are processed directly in your browser and are not uploaded to HubToolify's servers.
