Why use this tool?
- Structured data that is valid but missing required fields is ignored; knowing which fields are required saves a round of testing.
- Writing JSON-LD by hand means balancing braces and remembering property names.
- A page often needs more than one block, such as an article together with its breadcrumbs, and they are best combined.
- Marking up a recipe, event, product or FAQ is how those pages become eligible for enhanced presentation in search results, though Google decides whether to show it.
How to use Schema Markup Generator
- Choose the Type from the drop-down: Article, Product, FAQ, How-to, Event, Recipe, Local business, Organisation, Person, Video, Breadcrumbs, Website, Job posting, Course, App or Review.
- Fill in the fields. Required ones are marked, and the right-hand panel names any that are missing.
- To add another block for the same page, click Add another block and pick its type; switch between blocks with the chips above the form.
- Read the JSON-LD as it updates, together with the Recommended, not required list.
- Click Copy, or download schema.html, and paste the script tag into your page.
- Test the live page with Google's Rich Results Test, which the tool links to.

- Required and recommended fields shown separately for each type
- Several blocks in one output, combined into a single @graph
- Extra checks for type-specific mistakes
- Counts of blocks, missing required fields and output size
- A link to Google's documentation for the selected type
- Copy and download of the finished script tag
Supported formats
Produces a JSON-LD script tag, which you can copy or download as schema.html. Input is typed into form fields; nothing is uploaded or read from a file.
Tips
- Describe only what is visible on the page. Markup for content visitors cannot see risks a manual action from Google.
- Changing the type clears that block's values, because field names mean different things across types.
- The script can sit in the head or in the body; a parser reads it either way.
- Complete the recommended fields as well as the required ones where you have the information.
Frequently asked questions
Does this guarantee a rich result in Google?
No. It helps you meet the documented requirements, but Google decides whether to show enhanced results for any page. Use the Rich Results Test to see what it reads from the live page.
Is what I enter sent to a server?
No. The JSON-LD is built in your browser as you type.
Which format does it output?
JSON-LD, inside a script tag with type application/ld+json. Microdata and RDFa are not generated.
Can I put more than one type on the same page?
Yes. Use Add another block, and the blocks are written together as one @graph rather than as separate script tags.
Where should I paste the output?
Anywhere in the page's HTML; the head is the usual place, but position does not matter to a parser.
What is the difference between required and recommended fields?
Required fields must be present before Google will use the markup for that feature. Recommended fields are optional, but improve how the result can be shown.
Can I try this Pro tool without an account?
Yes. Generate and copy one JSON-LD block free. Combining several blocks and the download require Pro. Your own input is processed locally in your browser.
Will upgrading keep my work?
Checkout and login open in a separate tab. Keep the workspace open to retain inputs, settings and previews. Files stay in that tab only; keep the originals in case you close or reload it. Export access is checked with the server after payment.
Your files are processed directly in your browser and are not uploaded to HubToolify's servers.
