UTM URL Builder Pro

Attach the five standard campaign parameters to a link and keep a running list of every tagged URL you make. Values are tidied as you type, so the same source is never spelled two ways. Free preview · Pro required to export. Build and copy tagged links free, and keep 3 in your list. A longer list and the CSV export require Pro.

Why use this tool?

  • Analytics reports treat Facebook, facebook and FaceBook as three separate sources, and nothing warns you until the campaign is already split across rows.
  • A campaign usually has one link per placement: the newsletter, the bio, the pinned post, the ad. Building them one at a time in a spreadsheet invites typos.
  • Pasting a URL that is already tagged and adding a second set of parameters is a common way to corrupt a report; this tool notices and replaces the old ones.
  • A CSV of every link is what a teammate or a client actually asks for after the campaign is planned.

How to use UTM URL Builder

  1. Type or paste the page you want to point at into Website URL. If you leave off https://, it is added for you.
  2. Optionally click a placement chip such as Email newsletter, Google Ads or QR code in print to fill in the usual source and medium.
  3. Fill in Campaign source, Campaign medium and Campaign name. These three are required; Campaign term, Campaign content and Campaign ID are optional.
  4. Read the tagged link in the right-hand panel and use Copy, or Open it to check that it loads.
  5. Click Add to the list to keep the link, then repeat for the next placement.
  6. When the set is done, click Export CSV to download utm-links.csv.

Features

  • Six fields: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content and utm_id
  • Ten placement presets with conventional source and medium values
  • A switch for lower-casing values and turning spaces into hyphens, on by default
  • A warning when the URL already carries utm_ parameters, which are replaced rather than duplicated
  • A table of exactly which parameters were added
  • A saved list of up to 50 links with Copy and remove buttons for each
  • CSV export of campaign, source, medium, content and URL

Supported formats

Takes any http or https web address as input and produces the same address with utm_ parameters in its query string. The saved list exports as a UTF-8 CSV file.

Tips

  • Pick a short list of mediums (email, social, cpc, referral) and reuse them in every campaign; the presets already follow that pattern.
  • Turn off the tidy option only when a platform gives you an id whose capital letters matter.
  • Use Campaign content to tell apart two links to the same page in the same message, such as a header button and a footer link.
  • The saved list lives in this browser only. Export the CSV if you want it on another device or want to share it.

Frequently asked questions

Which UTM fields are required?

The builder asks for source, medium and campaign name before it will show a finished link. Term, content and ID are optional extras.

What does the tidy option do?

It lower-cases each value, trims it and swaps spaces for hyphens, so "Spring Sale" becomes "spring-sale". Nothing else in the value is changed.

What happens if my link already has UTM parameters?

A notice lists the ones it found, and the finished link drops them and uses the values from the form instead. Other query parameters, such as ?id=5, are kept.

Where is my list of links stored?

In your browser's local storage on this device. It is never sent to a server, and it will not appear on another device or browser.

How many links can I keep in the list?

Fifty. When you add a new one beyond that, the oldest entry drops off the end, so export the CSV before then.

Does adding UTM tags change what visitors see?

The page is the same; the parameters are read by your analytics tool. The tool builds the link only and does not track clicks or report on the campaign.

Can I try this Pro tool without an account?

Yes. Build and copy tagged links free, and keep 3 in your list. A longer list and the CSV export require Pro. Your own input is processed locally in your browser.

Will upgrading keep my work?

Checkout and login open in a separate tab. Keep the workspace open to retain inputs, settings and previews. Files stay in that tab only; keep the originals in case you close or reload it. Export access is checked with the server after payment.

Your files are processed directly in your browser and are not uploaded to HubToolify's servers.
