Video Resizer Pro
Turn a clip into the shape a platform wants, such as a vertical 9:16 for Reels or a square for the feed, and choose what happens to the part that does not fit: cut it, blur it or bar it. Cropping happens around a point you click, so the subject stays in frame. Free preview · Pro required to export. Reframe the first 5 seconds of your video at up to 480 pixels on the short edge. Pro reframes and saves the full video.

Why use this tool?
- A video shot in landscape has to be vertical to fill a Reel, Story, Short or TikTok, and a plain centre crop often cuts off the person or product you are showing.
- Feed posts want 4:5 or 1:1, while YouTube wants 16:9; one source clip often has to go to several places.
- If cropping would lose something important, a blurred or black-barred fill keeps the entire frame instead.
- Doing it in the browser means you do not wait for an upload of a large clip.
How to use Video Resizer
- Drop a video onto the drop zone or click to browse. The tool accepts files up to 150 MB.
- Under "Where it is going", pick 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 or 16:9, and choose an Output size of 1080, 720 or 480 on the short edge.
- Choose how to fill the new shape: Crop, Blurred fill or Plain bars.
- For Crop, scrub the "Preview frame" slider to a frame that shows your subject and click the subject in the preview. The bright box shows what will be kept and the rest is dimmed.
- Press "Reframe the video" and wait; the first run downloads the video engine. The result plays in the Result panel.
- Press Download to save the MP4.
Features
- Four target shapes: 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 and 16:9
- Three output sizes, set by the short edge: 1080, 720 or 480 pixels
- Crop mode with a click-to-set focus point and a dimmed preview of what is cut away
- Blurred fill mode, which puts the whole frame over an enlarged, blurred copy of the same footage
- Plain bars mode, which letterboxes the whole frame on black
- Readouts of source size, output size and clip length before you start
- Audio is kept and re-encoded as AAC
Supported formats
Accepts MP4, WebM, MOV and MKV video up to 150 MB. Always saves an H.264 MP4 with AAC audio, named after the original file plus the ratio, such as clip-9x16.mp4.
Tips
- Pick the preview frame first and then the focus point. The point you click applies to the whole video, so choose a spot where your subject usually is, and keep in mind that a subject that moves around the frame may leave the crop.
- Use Blurred fill for wide scenes, screen recordings or anything with text near the edges, since cropping would cut them.
- Start at 720 on the short edge for a quick test; the encoding runs in software and 1080 takes noticeably longer.
- If the browser runs out of memory, try a shorter clip or a smaller output size.
Frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is processed by ffmpeg running in your browser tab, so the file stays on your device. The encoder (about 32 MB) is downloaded once from a public CDN and cached.
Why does a 1080 export take a while?
The encoding is done in software inside the browser, not by your graphics card, so long or large clips take a while. The tool says so while it works and shows a progress bar.
Does the focus point follow my subject?
No. It is one fixed point used for the whole clip, not a tracker. For a subject that moves a lot, use Blurred fill or Plain bars to keep the whole frame.
Will the audio be kept?
Yes. Audio is re-encoded to AAC at 128 kbps in the output MP4.
What is the difference between 1080 and the actual dimensions?
The size is the short edge. At 9:16 and 1080 the output is 1080 x 1920; at 16:9 and 1080 it is 1920 x 1080. The Output readout shows the exact figures before you start.
Why will my video not open?
The tool reads the file with your browser's own decoder first, so it can only open codecs your browser can play. If one fails, try an MP4 with H.264 video.
Can I try this Pro tool without an account?
Yes. Reframe the first 5 seconds of your video at up to 480 pixels on the short edge. Pro reframes and saves the full video. Your own input is processed locally in your browser.
Will upgrading keep my work?
Checkout and login open in a separate tab. Keep the workspace open to retain inputs, settings and previews. Files stay in that tab only; keep the originals in case you close or reload it. Export access is checked with the server after payment.
Your files are processed directly in your browser and are not uploaded to HubToolify's servers.
