Why use this tool?
- Every platform crops differently, and letting it choose usually cuts off the wrong thing.
- A locked ratio means a profile picture is square and a banner is the right shape before you upload it.
- Cropping also removes weight: fewer pixels is a smaller file.
How to use Image Crop
- Upload the image.
- Drag the crop box, or pick a preset ratio such as 1:1, 9:16 or 16:9.
- Fine-tune the edges, then export.
Features
- Freehand crop or locked aspect ratios
- Presets for profile pictures, stories, thumbnails and banners
- Exact pixel dimensions shown as you drag
Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce image quality?
Cropping itself does not — it removes pixels rather than altering the ones that remain. Re-encoding as JPEG can, so save at a high quality if you plan to edit again.
What ratio should a profile picture be?
Square, 1:1. Most platforms then mask it into a circle, so keep the important part away from the corners.
