Why use this tool?

  • A set made only of huge tags is buried in seconds, and one made only of obscure tags reaches almost no one; mixing sizes is the standard approach.
  • Each platform handles tags differently, and Instagram, X and LinkedIn call for very different quantities.
  • Typing out variations of the same topic every time you post is tedious, and it is easy to forget to check the combined length with the caption.
  • Some tags have been restricted on Instagram in the past, and finding that out after posting can hurt reach.

How to use Hashtag Generator

  1. Type your subject into What is the post about? Separate words with spaces or commas.
  2. Pick a Niche from the dropdown, or None - keyword only, to add topic-specific tags from a ready-made list.
  3. Choose the Platform: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube or Pinterest. The slider is capped at that platform's suggested number of tags.
  4. Choose #alllowercase or #PascalCase. PascalCase capitalises every word, which screen readers read more clearly.
  5. Optionally paste your caption to see the combined length against the platform's caption budget.
  6. Click one tag to copy it, or press Copy line or Copy list. The Ready to paste box shows the caption followed by the tags.

Features

  • Tags grouped as broad, mid and niche, with a count of each
  • Six platform presets with a tag limit and a caption-length budget for each
  • Ten niche lists (business, food, travel, fitness, tech, fashion, beauty, photography, education and real estate) plus a keyword-only option
  • Lower-case or PascalCase output
  • Combined caption and hashtag length meter
  • Flags tags on a built-in list of ones Instagram has restricted before
  • Copy one tag, a single line or a list

Supported formats

Takes a short phrase of text and gives you plain hashtags that copy as one line or as a list, one per line.

Tips

  • Tags are built by combining your words with common modifiers such as tips, ideas and routine, plus the niche list. Delete any that do not describe the post.
  • The platform notes are general guidance rather than platform rules. Three to five relevant tags is a sensible starting point on most networks.
  • The caption limits in the meter are 2,200 characters for Instagram and TikTok, 3,000 for LinkedIn, 280 for X, 5,000 for YouTube and 500 for Pinterest.
  • Use one specific multi-word topic, such as hand lettering practice, instead of a single general word; that gives more distinct tags.

Frequently asked questions

Does it show how popular each hashtag is?

No. It has no live data on tag popularity. The broad, mid and niche labels come from how the tag is constructed, so check a tag's actual reach in the app before relying on it.

How many hashtags should I use?

The slider tops out at 30 for Instagram, 12 for TikTok, 5 for LinkedIn, 3 for X, 15 for YouTube and 20 for Pinterest. The notes under the platform buttons suggest using far fewer on most of them.

What does the exclamation mark on a tag mean?

The tag is on a built-in list of ones Instagram has restricted at some point. The list is not live, so a tag without a mark is not guaranteed to be safe.

Why is the warning about Instagram even on other platforms?

The restricted-tag list is based on Instagram only. The warning appears whenever a listed tag is in your set, whichever platform you selected.

What is PascalCase for?

Capitalising each word, as in #ProductivityTools, makes a multi-word tag easier to read and lets screen readers pronounce it as separate words.

Is my topic stored?

No. The tags are generated in your browser and nothing is sent to HubToolify.

Can I try this Pro tool without an account?

Yes. Generate up to 10 hashtags free and copy them. Pro unlocks the platform maximum and the download. Your own input is processed locally in your browser.

Will upgrading keep my work?

Checkout and login open in a separate tab. Keep the workspace open to retain inputs, settings and previews. Files stay in that tab only; keep the originals in case you close or reload it. Export access is checked with the server after payment.
